Company Profile: Horizont Group GmbH 

Founded in 1945

Every pilot is familiar with it: the artificial horizon in an aircraft cockpit. Electrical engineer Dr. Heinz Müller was also part of the development team that created what is now a technical standard. When he later sought a new field of activity and founded his own company in 1945, he named it “horizont” in memory of this invention.

Since the company’s founding 80 years ago, the horizont brand—as a medium-sized enterprise—has been synonymous with premium quality. Our innovative products are developed in accordance with the latest technical standards. Key stages of production for electronic components and nearly all plastic products take place at our manufacturing facilities in Germany.

Horizont Today

Today, the Horizont Group consists of a network of companies, each of which is a specialist in its field. Currently, the Horizont Group employs over 500 people. Central distribution and logistics are handled from Korbach, in the heart of Germany. A positive expansion in the field of road safety was the integration of Klemmfix GmbH in 2000, whose passive traffic control products perfectly complemented the proven range of Horizont Signaltechnik. The integration of Müller Verkehrstechnik GmbH, a manufacturer of traffic signs, in 2017 further expanded the product portfolio.
